AJ Angello, CSCS
Owner / Head Strength Coach
Ever since I can remember, I dreamed of opening my own gym. I am extremely passionate about fitness and sports performance, and nothing in this world makes me happier than seeing people achieve their goals and live healthy lifestyles.

I graduated from Salisbury University in 2023 with an Exercise Science degree and a minor in Business Administration. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. I have been a personal trainer for over five years, and I completed internships with Yale University Sports Performance and Strive Sports Medicine Physical Therapy.

I graduated from Delmar High School in 2019, where I played baseball and football. I had the privilege of being a captain of the 2017 DIAA D2 Football State Champions. Now I compete in powerlifting as a member of the United States Powerlifting Association. On the rare occasion I'm not in the gym coaching or working out, I love to spend time with friends and family. I like to fish, golf, and do anything outdoors!

This winter I will be graduating from Salisbury University with a degree in Exercise Science. I am a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and completing my CSCS certification.
Growing up as a kid, sports were everything to me. My father influenced me with weight training and it heavily impacted my life. I found confidence in myself, and a passion where I’m able to guide others. I’m proud to help young and old not only reach their goals, but find confidence in themselves through exercise.
If I’m not in the gym, I like to spend time with friends and family. Occasionally, me, my brother, and dad make a trip to Colorado to climb 14,000 foot mountains. My friends and I enjoy being outside and playing games. Being active has helped me experience so many different things. My goal is to enable others to do the same thing.

Operations Manager / Coach
Throughout my life, I have maintained an active lifestyle. However, it wasn't until later on that I truly grasped the profound benefits of strength training, both physically and mentally. Armed with this newfound knowledge, I am driven to assist others in achieving their goals with a sense of happiness and holistic well-being.

During my high school years at Wicomico High School, I actively participated in lacrosse and cross country, dedicating myself to these sports for all four years. Upon completing my education, I embarked on a part-time position at a fitness facility. Over time, my commitment and expertise propelled me to the role of manager and eventually personal trainer. Throughout the span of six years, I fostered a genuine passion for cultivating healthier lifestyles not only for myself but also for those I had the privilege to guide.

The gym has become a second home to me, a place where I feel most comfortable and energized. However, when I'm not there, I find enjoyment with my friends, family, and my beloved pets—my dogs—who bring joy and warmth to my life.

I started lifting when I was 16. Ironically, I wasn’t a very active child. I hated gym class and never wanted to participate in sports. I struggled with body image issues for a lot of my life. For my 16th birthday, I got a gym membership and started to workout with my sister. I fell in love with lifting and not only did I feel healthier physically, but it helped me mentally as well. Now I am passionate about health and fitness and helping others better themselves physically and mentally.
I became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer in November of 2023. Since becoming a trainer at A4, I’ve loved helping others begin lifting, better their health, and become better athletes.
As well as working at A4 Training, I am also a server at The Old Mill Crabhouse. When I’m not working or taking classes at Del Tech, I am most likely walking trails, at a coffee shop, or hanging out with my friends and family.

Growing up I was always around sports, both of my sisters played softball, my brother played baseball and I followed his footsteps the first year I was able to. I was usually one of the smaller kids on the team and it wasn’t until my Sophomore year of high school when I found my appreciation for the gym in a strength training elective class. I saw a little bit of progress and fell in love with the process. When Covid hit during my senior year, I was fortunate enough to have a bench and some dumbbells in my basement and enough prior experience to get by. When my older brother came back from college and asked to start lifting with me, that's when I began expanding my knowledge even more.
I graduated from Salisbury University in May of 2024, with my Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. I have my personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and am currently pursuing my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. My current training philosophy focuses on strength and mobility, I love the idea of functional fitness that applies to everyday life.
Originally I’m from across the bridge in Frederick, County. I like doing active things outdoors like playing catch, spikeball, and pickleball. I enjoy spending time with my friends, listening to music and watching sports.

Growing up I was always interested in the gym, but I never knew how to go about it. I played sports in high school and was active, but I never really explored all the facets of fitness.
My freshman year of college I weighed about 135 lbs. I didn’t struggle with confidence, but I always had people
around me who were physically fit and could give me advice. Now I want to help people reach the best versions of themselves.
Currently I am a senior studying Exercise Science at Salisbury University. I plan to graduate in December, become a strength coach at A4 while also attending graduate school to become a licensed Physician Assistant.

Throughout the years, sports have always been an integral part of my life. Whether it was playing sports, managing sports teams, or coaching teams, I’ve been involved in some shape or form. The one thing that I enjoy about sports is the community and culture that is built around everyone involved.

I graduated from Mardela Middle & High School in 2020. Shortly after graduating high school, I went to Salisbury University where I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science along with a minor in Athletic Coaching.

Apart from the gym, I enjoy watching sports and hanging out with my friends and family. Outside of A4, I am also currently a coach for the 2015/2016 Boys Travel Team for Pipeline Shore.

Assistant Coach
Throughout my life, I have always been involved with sports. I have always had a passion to help others in our community while being able to stay around the sports world. I never really took the weight room seriously until I experienced a very painful injury during my freshman year of high school resulting in a torn ACL and meniscus. After coming back from my injury with extensive rehab, I found a much larger passion for weight lifting and injury prevention. I was even awarded the opportunity to play collegiate baseball thanks to having an appreciation for the weight room.
Currently, I am finishing my Exercise Science degree at Salisbury University with minors in Sports Medicine and Athletic Coaching.

In my free time alongside the weight room, I enjoy playing video games, traveling, and hanging out with friends.

For the vast majority of my life, fitness and sport have been my passion. I have played organized sports from tee ball all the way up through college baseball and began lifting at age 12. Throughout my middle school years, I played multiple sports and continued working out in the gym religiously. It was not until high school that I decided to hone all my efforts and skills towards baseball to continue my career in college.
My efforts paid off and after a successful career at Parkside High School, I was offered a spot on the baseball team at Towson University and played the 2017 season with the Tigers. After two years at Towson, I transferred to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where I competed from 2018 through 2020, concluding my baseball career. Over the years, I have always loved to lift but it was during my time at UMES where I really found my passion for the gym.
I graduated from UMES with a degree in exercise science in 2021 and am currently ISSA certified in personal training, strength and conditioning, and nutrition. Through all the hard work, setbacks, and successes, sports and fitness have taught me countless life lessons that helped shape who I am today. My goal is to share my passion with others so that they may reach their goals and experience the profound benefits that training provides just as I have.
